Crumpet

CRUMPET

noun
1.A type of savoury cake, typically flat and round, made from batter and yeast, containing many small holes, cooked on a griddle or the like and served toasted, usually with butter.
2.(UK, slang) A person considered sexually desirable.



On the mysteries of kitchen lore:
Making crumpets had proven more difficult
Than their namesakes had led him to believe.

My partners eats many crumpets, but always shop-bought ones.

They gave me a hard time: It was the first time I was making them and they were sticking to the cooking circles most stubbornly. But they tasted fine this morning toasted with salted butter on them...
