Your hand a shallow bowl
Begging for stray thoughts,
Shadows left behind by departing doubts
And wasted tears gone dry with age.
Begging for a gesture, a look
Cognition before recognition
A loosely wrapped bond ready to fly.
Begging to be held.

Beautifull written and begging for a well deserved compliment.
This is a beautiful and tender take on the prompt, Nathalie.
I always enjoy your succinct responses. and their link to the word of the day.
Wonderful Nathalie! I purposefully turned the photo on it's side... much more to be gleaned with the palm turned up.
a beautiful response!
The need of us all..beautifully told! Maybe we can stop begging and just receive the lovingkindness we deserve!
wonderfully done magpie...makes me think of those just wanting to have the touch of another to make them feel again...
Normally I'd imagine three 'begging's in eight lines to be overdoing it, but this works very well.
Oh sad...I don't know if you meant it the way I interpreted it. I see a elderly person afflicted with Alzheimer's. Their hand just a shallow bowl of their former self...and the loved one reaching a hand out as well...hoping to be recognized, just one more time.
Beautiful Nathalie,
I just love the idea of a hand as a vessel - or in this case, a hopeful vessel, needing to be filled.
Beautiful words and such feeling..
'Wasted tears gone dry with age'
How sad..very well written I loved it.
