Thirst

–noun
1. a sensation of dryness in the mouth and throat caused by need of liquid.
2. the physical condition resulting from this need, in any of various degrees.

Thirst in the eyes that fail to see
Drinking shadows for a soul
Or anything
That might make them blink
Just one more time.
That one last time.

All I can say is... I was here, I read, and I saw. Other than that, I don't have the words to describe what I felt when I saw this picture and read your words. But I can add that it awakened something deep inside me --- a "primitive" memory I can't put words to, but I feel it.

This is so very deep. A primeval feel to it. Excellently done.

Drinking shadows for a soul....such emptiness. How many times have I mistaken form or style for substance and found myself empty and thirsty?

Thanks for this powerful poem.

It's a beautiful presentation! I am in awe of your many talents, not the least of which is your Photoshop mastery!

But I can't help wondering if, like me, you just finished reading the Twilight series!? ;-)
