Ocean

OCEAN

–noun
1. the vast body of salt water that covers almost three fourths of the earth's surface.
2. any of the geographical divisions of this body, commonly given as the Atlantic, Pacific, Indian, Arctic, and Antarctic oceans.
3. a vast expanse or quantity

Like an ocean...
I sailed the sea of your eyes
Scaling every wave on your face
To lose myself in the maelstrom on your laughter
Let the ripples where mocking gulls dive
Gurgle and giggle
Back to serenity.

Wonderful! The image is perfect, too. I really enjoyed this one, and especially loved "I sailed the sea of your eyes, scaling every wave on your face".

i have seen this metaphor before (sea/ocean of the eyes), but your take is very fresh and reveals something new.

"Back to serenity' will be in the shallow waters where the little ripples come to rest and you can play.
I like the excitement, then peace, brought out in this.

I'm not terribly up on poetry, so I've never seen this metaphor before - it seemed incredibly delicate and fresh. Really put me in the moment. Nice!

The parched-looking cracks together with your ocean images rivet one's attention.
