Adrift

ADRIFT

-adj. –adv. (postpositive)
1. floating without steering or mooring; drifting
2. without purpose; aimless

The sun was adrift
Drawing chanting scrolls over
The parchments of the sea
Over brutalized stones and sloped grass
Wearied at last of flax maidens
Waiting out storms to come.
