Awn

1. a bristle-like appendage of a plant, especially on the glumes of grasses.
2. such appendages collectively, as those forming the beard of wheat, barley, etc.
3. any similar bristle.




He was prickly
Too much awn on his cheeks
But then when I complained
He reminded me of how much
We had relished our roll
In the awns last spring.
